You may not know who the greatest Uruguayan soccer players in history are. You may not know more than the member’s of the team seemed to lie down on the field when they played the United State’s men’s team in the 2010 World Cup. The Black Marvel, whose real name was Jose Leandro Andrade, was a great right half back. In his long career, he never faked an injury. He did manage to get one real injury in the 1930 World Cup by hitting his eye on a goal post. His speed caused Europeans to reveal him as the football player with the Golden Feet.
Alvaro Recoba was another player who fans say may have rivaled Brazilian soccer great, Pele. He was not one of the flashier players, but he did play the sport at the highest professional levels.
