Like any other sports team, every soccer team has its strong and weak points. These will vary from team to team, of course, but there are some consistent threats that the majority of teams have to work to prepare for.

Perhaps the most important area that a soccer team need be attentive to is the defense. With an average offensive squad, a team could still in theory score goals. Not as many as they would if they had a good offensive, granted, but the possibility would still exist. However, if a team’s defensive squad is weak, the integrity of the team as a whole is compromised far more than it would be were their offensive players weak. With a strong defensive squad, it is eminently possible to keep the game at a nil-nil tie. With a weak one, it is much harder to even secure a tie.

Therefore, the greatest threat to any soccer team is two-pronged: a weak defense and an effective opposing offense. Either of these is dangerous, and the two combined is nothing short of catastrophic. The best response to this, therefore, is working to create a sound defense. Once one has achieved that, any subsequent great threats can be dealt with at leisure.

Rising Popularity of the Uruguay National Soccer Club

Over the recent years, soccer, or football as it is known to the rest of the world, has risen in popularity. In the United States, Washington is a literal hotspot of soccer appreciation with fans of every stripe coming out and offering their support not just for the All-American teams but the Spanish, English and even Uruguayan teams.

Most people in Washington can tell you who their favorite player is for Uruguay and anyone with direct tv washington support hasn’t missed a game since. The team, like most, has had their fair share of losses as well as wins, but one thing has always remained the same with Uruguay: it’s a battle of heart.

The Uruguayans don’t always display that flourish and finesse like the other teams, but that’s only because they compete with their hearts. Every game played by the Uruguay National Soccer Club is a passionate display of both endurance and courage solidifying a history of excellence that spans over a decade.

While other soccer, or football, teams come and go, the Uruguay National Soccer Club will surely remain in the hearts of Americans and soccer enthusiasts the world over.

Every team in professional sports has a strength that defines who they are and what type of team that they are. With soccer, it is no exception on what it is and how they build themselves up. It is like an identity that exists within them and makes them who they are.

A big strength is that they have toughness built from within. It isn’t just the physical aspect but the mental one. How does that give them an advantage? It means that they are a team that does not crack easily when the pressure is on. With strength such as that, it shows that they cannot be broken so easily.

There is talent on the team. That means simply they got players with skills. Whether they can work well together and be like a well-oiled machine is another story. It just simply means that they what would be considered really good talent. Potential is there to continue to mesh well but only time will tell on how it all works out.

Will these strengths mentioned above help the Uruguay soccer team? In theory it should. All that will remain is seeing them in action and how they win games.

Every soccer team has weaknesses, and all of them have weaknesses in different areas. The weakness of a soccer team lies in its weakest position. When the opposition becomes familiar with your teams weakest position, they will exploit that position every chance they get. They can pass the ball to an open area where the defender is unable to contest the ball, or they let the offensive player go one on one against that player. Additionally, if the player is unable to defend, it means you will be able to control possession of the ball for longer time periods. This ability to control the ball means that the opponent has no chance to mount an offensive attack.

The ability to exploit a weakness is what separates good teams from great ones. The great teams are constantly looking for mistakes in the other teams plans. By looking for the weakest player, they have an area of the field from which to attack. This knowledge can lead to great scoring opportunities as the team continues to take advantage of your weakness. Sometimes, it is necessary for the team with the weakness to help out their teammate, but this just leaves weakness where the other player is helping from.

The history of the soccer club dates back to ancient times. During the early ancestral version of what we now know as soccer, teams and clubs existed throughout ancient China and Mesoamerica. As the game evolved so did the club organization and team structure. It is hard to speculate who formed the first soccer club ever as it is not easy to agree on who was really playing the game that we now call soccer.

The clearest starting point for organized club soccer began in England in October of 1863. What we commonly think of as a soccer club today was created when a group of eleven team’s representatives met at the London Freemason’s tavern to agree upon a set of standard rules that would govern all soccer matches. At that meeting, rules regarding tripping, skin-kicking and carrying the ball finally forced an agreed separation between rugby players and soccer players. On December 8, 1863, the “Laws of the Game” were created and clubs were now able to officially be recognized by a governing body called the Football Association. 50 soccer clubs would be inducted into the association over the following eight years. Uruguay’s National Club was founded in 1900.

You may not know who the greatest Uruguayan soccer players in history are. You may not know more than the member’s of the team seemed to lie down on the field when they played the United State’s men’s team in the 2010 World Cup. If this is where your perceptions of the Uruguayan team come from, you may be forgiven for not knowing the names of some of the greatest players.

Jose Nasazzi lead his team to the victory in the 1930 World Cup. It is hard to find further details about this player’s life.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here. He did manage to win two Olympic gold medals and represented the team in 1926 and 1935.

The Black Marvel, whose real name was Jose Leandro Andrade, was a great right half back. In his long career, he never faked an injury. He did manage to get one real injury in the 1930 World Cup by hitting his eye on a goal post. His speed caused Europeans to reveal him as the football player with the Golden Feet.

Alvaro Recoba was another player who fans say may have rivaled Brazilian soccer great, Pele. He was not one of the flashier players, but he did play the sport at the highest professional levels.
